Selected methods and measures for increase of safety and cost reduction of mining shaft hoists operation

The paper presents overall characteristics of mining industry in Poland from the safety of SMTP vertical transportation machinery systems point of view. Selected results of AGH cognitive and practical scientific-and-research studies on safety of mining shaft hoists, which are one of three SMTP sub-systems, are described. It has been found that the rightness of thesis about existing possibilities of vertical transportation cost reduction with simultaneous increase of reliability and safety of mining shaft hoists is the most important achievement. Thesis rightness has been proved on the basis of HWR movable stabilizing blocks, modar® lining and systems for the operation of vessels with combined PHH shock-absorber.
